Vernen Pillay

Managing Director

Alder Grove Automotive was formed in 2020 by Vernen Pillay (Managing Director). The Managing Director of Alder Grove Automotive has over 20 years of experience in the motor industry. The wealth of experience he brings stems from 14 years at Absa Vehicle Management Solutions (a leading Fleet Management company in South Africa) where he excelled in various roles, the most recent of which was the Executive Head: National Sales. Prior to that he spent 5 years at Toyota South Africa (one of South Africa’s top motor manufacturers) in the Government Sales and Vehicle Pricing divisions. Being well respected within the Motor Industry, he was elected to serve on the National Executive Committee of the South African Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (SAVRALA) as the Chairman of the Leasing section for a number of years.

Ridwaan Banoo

Operations Director

Ridwaan has over 20 years experience in the Fleet Industry. He spent almost 15 years with Absa Vehicle Management Solutions, served on the Management Committee and held many senior roles, the last being Operations Manager. In this role, Ridwaan managed the Risk and Pricing, End of Contract and Disposals, Maintenance Call Centre, Procurement and Licensing Teams.

Prior to that Ridwaan headed up many Fleet Portfolios which includes Managing the RT46 Contract.
A transversal government contract comprising of more than 110,000 assets.
Ridwaan was also the Head of Business: Fleet for Talis Fleet. A leading Fleet Management company.
